Quickway Pilot Services has proudly supported the heavy haul industry for over four decades. Since 1979, we have built a strong reputation for professionalism, safety, and dependable service across Western Canada.
What began as a pilot service provider has grown into a comprehensive operation offering a wide range of solutions, including pilot vehicles, traffic management planning, route surveys, and a dedicated traffic control division. Our continued expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the industry.

Our History – Built on Hard Work Since 1980
The year was 1980 and William (Bill) Gunderson resided in Valemount, BC. where he operated a low bed, highway haul, and log truck venture. This was operated under the name Gunderson Trucking.
Pilot cars were rare in the area in those days, so Bill decided to get into the pilot car business as he required them to transport some of the oversized equipment he was hauling for the logging industry.
In the spring of 1980, Quickway was born, and from 1980 to 2007 Bill operated his business under the Quickway banner.
In October of 2007, Bill retired his son, (Wayne Gunderson) and grandson (JR Gunderson) and moved them to Valemount to continue Quickway operations.
Quickway continued to grow throughout the years; a traffic control division was started, along with a shuttle service.
40 years later, Quickway has over 21 pilot vehicles, (corporate and non corporate,) operating in all areas of British Columbia. Quickway has become one of the elite Pilot Car and Traffic Control companies in Western Canada and continues to grow.
